amina kamari
The South Senegal school is designed to provide quality education and foster child development both vital for cultivating a self-reliant and skilled community. The adopted educational approach emphasizes motor expression, social participation, free self-expression, and creativity. The design integrates with its surroundings through projections, recessions, and directional shifts. The school consists of four modules, each housing two classrooms, an interior courtyard, and facilities for two classes. The design focuses on natural ventilation and shading, both achieved through double-height and shifted volumes that offer small upper windows for ventilation and creates the necessary shading in between units thus creating a dynamic, community-oriented space that embraces local culture and climate.
