Serenity is a state of being calm, peaceful and untroubled. Achieving this positive state of mind means you won’t feel as troubled by life’s ups and downs. While a life is full of chaos, loss of control of emotions reaching serenity state is the best to be. Serenity was expressed in this project through natural light. A thorough study of light through a composition of cubes was undertaken since the beginning of the project in order to achieve a coherent and homogeneous result in which every corner expresses serenity and calm. Cubes are scattered throughout the structure, forming sometimes a lighting system, floating some other times to contradict gravity.
Serenity was also explored in the program of the guesthouse, where study rooms were dedicated for isolation (or meditation) and common areas where light is staged with the white marble used to reflect it and emphasize on the idea of purity.
