According to the NY Times, inside college campuses anxiety is a bigger mental health concern than depression. As a person with chronic anxiety, I know how difficult it is for people like me to get productive. In my co-living space, single residents with anxiety cooperate on a daily basis to schedule their tasks, enhancing their sense of community. From morning till nighttime, residents are encouraged to break out of their comfort zone, as most of their activities are in public & semi-public spaces. By designing private housing modules that can move left & right, the residents generate playful spaces, all while controlling their quality of space. Surrounded by offices & the BCD, my ground floor is a place of attraction for young designers to learn about Al Bachoura, as well as a daily spot for parents to put their kids before going to work.
