DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER / FISHERMAN’S HOUSE

fatima khatib

The first project focuses on the concept of reflection. A long narrow corridor where the circulation and accessibility to all the spaces is happening. The keeper of the house suffers from DID and is only able to shift personalities while walking through this corridor. This corridor is defined as a separating elements as it creates a boundary between the rock and the water.
Years later, the water level rises and the house is completely immerged under water. The spaces where also invaded by the rocks and become habitable. However, part of the house was separated from the corridor and is approached by and elevated platform. This space is elevated from the surface of the water by pilotis referring to the pile dwellings (Architecture without Architects).
