A detention center for male youth under the age of 18, being a facility which inmates are forcibly conned and denied a variety of freedoms temporarily until they meet justice. The inmates will be awaiting trial or sentencing. Guilty or innocent both are treated with mercy considering the psychological aspects that have caused such behaviors along with providing them with ways to express their emotions such as anger, blame, insecurity, etc. and prepare for what is to come during their temporary stay.
The Debbas building located in the heart of Beirut, was carefully chosen for its location between two highways that isolates the inmates but at the same grants their visiting parents an easy access.
The building has been voided from the inside creating a central courtyard bringing in light to the core functions. The building hosts rehab facilities while offering pleasant cultural and physical activities.
