The project is a direct response to the site’s conditions and surrounding factors. From the program; the factory was designed in such a way to retain humidity, a key component for whiskey manufacturing. To the project’s placement; mirroring the road usages around the site. These factors led to interesting limitations. The stepped agricultural slope already presents on site pushed for a more playful interlock of double heights and half levels. In addition, the fact that both technical and touristic entrances where already dictated by the site in addition to the need to trap in humidity; resulted in a dislocation between both communal and production part of the factory. This allowed for a more thorough development of the two main function individually without affecting the ability for both blocks to communicate efficiently with one another.
