Homelessness is an issue that many people fall into and struggle to come back from. A homeless is an individual that lacks a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence or a person moving between temporary houses. The causes of experiencing homelessness are different. The security, the desire to belong, the connection and the attachment are lost with homelessness because they lack the sense of belonging, which are considered in Maslow’s original thinking as a natural progression.
The purpose of the adaptive reuse of that abandoned building is to help people experiencing homelessness live and bring life back to it.
The interventions applied will increase the sense of community of the residents through programmatic elements: thus, the residents will live off production and exchange which are a plan that will ensure the maintenance of the project. Moreover, the open ground floor and the labor place the building to act as the center of attraction in the area.
