Aiming to create a project that responds to the dire situation our country is passing through, the living machine is a sustainable project that sustains itself through the process of cultivating, learning, researching, designing and selling. The project combines the original structure with a new one, architecture with passive systems (rainwater collection and solar panels) to avoid the usage of fuel in the middle of a fuel crisis in Lebanon. Different functions are suspended inside the building to provide visual connection among different users. The learning and researching functions are sandwiched between the public functions on the top and ground floor creating an extension with the street. A building that presents a new approach to energy use and sustainability in the midst of an urban dense area.
