Our ability to reach unity in diversity has been challenging, yet it is what we strive to accomplish today.
Saint Nicolas stairway associates two famous streets: Gouraud Street, a hectic and public street, encompassing wall-to-wall buildings almost similar in shape and form, and the Sursock Street, an upper street with palaces and generous spaces, for more private owners. Acting as a mediator, the house create a unity in variety, inaugurating a knot amongst the streets: it is an endeavor to generate communal space accessible to people from both streets, creating a chain of rooms that deploy in the site, a streetscape within the embedded palace: the focal house.
