LIVING ON A WHEEL CHAIR

taliah tabbara

This dwelling promotes easy flow and rely on innovation to make the life of a person on a wheel chair more comfortable. The movement of the wheelchair across the 3 levels is facilitated by incorporating an elevator platform that is as big as a room. Every level of the house has a different environment with a different mood. The design is built around 3 keys moments: The entrance that elevates the user from the ground floor through a narrow corridor and releases him on a higher platform with a beautiful view to the ocean. The ramp that projects him into the sea and allows him to enjoy sitting by the water without any help. And finally the library/working space that is reached through the platform sinking into the floor and nestling between the hanging shelves.
