Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.
The passage is a Therapeutic Center located next to Charles Helou bridge facing the port. The aim of the project is to create a safe environment for individuals that were traumatized by the explosion to heal and overcome this devastating phase. The levels found in the topography help in creating this Therapeutic Center were visualizing the port directly would be the last step in healing. Through the promenade the individuals will follow, Light/shade, scale, open/enclosed spaces, sound and many factors would create this experience of healing in relation to sound and the sensuous experience. Thus, the project becomes the experience itself.
