FROZEN EXPANSION

The Hoberman sphere: a toy I used to play with when I was younger, would sit in and imagine it as my own bubble. The target was to freeze the moment and build around it.
I started experimenting with expandable and retractable objects. I filled balloons with plaster in order to “freeze” them and squeeze them in the alleyway to study the voids created. I came up with a triangular-shape structure that covers the masses and reminded me of the Hoberman.
My space is divided into three platforms: a public area with a bookcase and seating zone, and my private space: a living room and kitchen reached by stairs and a bedroom and bathroom. All platforms overlook a green patio in the middle of the alleyway. The dwelling still invites users of the passage to come sit around the garden for a moment before continuing their way.
